Moncton's Mosaic-tailed Rat (''Paramelomys moncktoni'', previously known as ''Melomys moncktoni'') is a species of rodent in the family Muridae. It is found only in Papua New Guinea.〔Baillie, J. 1996. (Melomys moncktoni ). (2006 IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. ) Downloaded on 9 July 2007.〕 The species lives in lowlands in the north-east and south-east portion of the country. It lives in tropical moist forests. It is found as high as 700 m.
